THE JOURNEY [a poem]

Where are we going on this journey of life?

Where we know nothing but strife
This journey that took so long in our roam
That we don’t even know there is a home

We are on a wonderful journey of destiny

And we won’t know it without some scrutiny
Never mind the question, “who am I?”
It should be, “what was I?”

We are to discover our own unfoldment

While going through personality disbandment
To be as we were before we left our abode
When duty called to pick up this load

So many questions on our way and overall

And so much to do to answer them all
For to be able to appreciate their brilliance
They have to be answered through experience

This kaleidoscope of madness

That can bring us so much sadness
Hides all the answers to the Cosmos
And will call for more than our utmost

Some of us just want to stay here

With things we hold deer
But it is time to find the way back home
And to remember we are not alone

By looking forward whilst remembering the past

We can develop spiritual assets that will for ever last
Great wonders are still to be discovered
As our spirituality is uncovered

The whole universe is waiting for us

The fiery worlds are waiting for us
Time to say “good bye” to materiality
And to say “hallo” to our spirituality

This wonderful journey will never end

Just as time seems to have no end
Who knows where it may leads?
Or what will be its proceeds?

So, be active in life and deliver your input

For our progress depends on our output

QUALITIES OF THE HEART [a poem]

When we talk about Heart-qualities

We are actually talking Soul-qualities
For the soul is anchored in the heart
While the brain learns to play its part

The wisdom and knowledge of the heart

Is the soul’s reservoir that will make us smart
Through the direction of psychic energy
Poison is replaced by treasure, cleverly

Courage is born of a pure heart

Where it dwells in the womb of the heart
In the Fiery World we need to walk fearlessly
Thus the need down here to fight evil endlessly

When only good thoughts can be chosen

It means the gates of Beneficence are open  
As the recipient of the earthly poison
Where prana pacifies the flow of poison

True solemnity is built in the highest tension

Bringing our progress to our attention 
Through solemnity salvation can be attained
But it must be absorbed and maintained

We have a love that holds us in the mire

And a love that can inspire
The one is earthy
And the other heavenly

The abode of spirit is beautiful

So we can build by using only the beautiful
In the heart we will always find the spark
That we need to kindle the light in the dark

For success, extreme tension is needed

But in action the limit must not be exceeded
For the heart to stay the transmuter of energies
The main accumulator of our memories

Thus we need to develop all these heart qualities

For our future intercourse with higher energies
For without them we will be blind
And just be left behind

SOME PROBLEMS OF PSYCHOLOGY

INTRODUCTION               

 

What I have here to say should be of general interest.  I intend to write with great simplicity, avoiding the technical terms of academic psychology, and putting the human psychological problem so plainly that real help may eventuate to many.  These days are fraught with difficulty and it would sometimes appear that the necessary environmental adjustments are so hard and the equipment so inadequate to the demanded task that humanity is being asked to perform the impossible.  It is as if the human frame had accumulated so much physical disability, so much emotional stress and had inherited so much disease and over-sensitivity that men fall back defeated.  It is as if the attitude of man to the past, to the present and to the future was of such a nature that there seems no reason for existence, that there is nothing toward which to look, and no help to be found in retrospection.

I am, therefore, widely generalising.  There are those to whom this generalisation does not apply, but even they, if they are students of human affairs, of sociological conditions, and of human equipment, are prone to question and at times to despair.  Life is so difficult these days; the tension to which men are subjected is so extreme; the future appears so threatening; and the masses of men are so ignorant, diseased and distressed.  I am putting this gloomy picture before you at the start of our discussion in order to evade no issue, to paint no silly optimistic and glamourous situation, or to portray no easy way of escape which would only lead us deeper into the gloomy forest of human error and illusion.

Yet, could we but know it, present conditions indicate their own cause and cure.  I trust that by the time we have studied the problem (cursorily, I realise, for that is all that is possible) I shall have been able to indicate a possible way out and to have offered such practical suggestions that light may appear in the dense darkness, the future hold much promise, and the present much of experiment, leading to improvement and understanding.

The major science today is Psychology.  It is one that is yet in its infancy but it holds the fate of humanity in its grasp and it has the power (rightly developed and employed) to save the race.  The reason for its greatness and usefulness lies in the fact that it lays the emphasis upon the relation of the unit to the whole, to the environment and contacts; it studies man's equipment and apparatus of such contact, and seeks to produce right adaptation, correct integration and coordination and the release of the individual to a life of usefulness, fulfillment and service.

Some of the difficulties which have to be faced as one considers the conclusions of the many, many schools of Psychology are based upon the fact of their failure to relate the many points of view to each other.  The same cleavage and even warfare is to be found within the confines of this science as are found in the individual man or in the religious field.  There is to be found a lack of synthesis, a failure to correlate results, and a tendency to overemphasise one aspect of the ascertained truth to the exclusion of others equally important.  The outstanding weakness or weaknesses in an individual's equipment or presentation of life (and also those of the group or social order) are considered to the exclusion and even negation of other weaknesses not so obvious but equally crippling.  Prejudice, dependent upon a biassed scholastic training, often frustrates the outlook so that the weakness in the psychologist's own equipment negates his efforts to aid the patient.  The failure of education today to take into consideration the whole man, or to allow scope for the activity of an integrating centre, a central point of consciousness, and a determining factor within the mechanism of the one who must be helped to adapt himself to his life condition—this above everything else is responsible for much of the trouble.  The assertion of the purely materialistic and scientific attitude which recognises only the definitely proven, or that which can be proved by the acceptance of an immediate hypothesis, has led to much loss of time.  When again the creative imagination can be released in every department of human thought we shall see many new things brought to light that are at present only accepted by the religiously inclined and by the pioneering minds.  One of the first fields of investigation to be benefited by this release will be that of psychology.

Organised religion has, alas, much to answer for, because of its fanatical emphasis upon doctrinal pronouncements, and its penalisation of those who fail to accept such dicta has served to stultify the human approach to God and to reality.  Its over-emphasis upon the unattainable and its culture of the sense of sin down the centuries have led to many disastrous conditions, to interior conflicts which have distorted life, to morbidity, sadistic attitudes, self-righteousness and an ultimate despair which is the negation of truth.

When right education (which is the true science of adaptation) and right religion (which is the culture of the sense of divinity) and right scientific unfoldment (which is the correct appreciation of the form or forms through which the subjective life of divinity is revealing itself) can be brought into right relation to each other and thus supplement each other's conclusions and efforts, we shall then have men and women trained and developed in all parts of their natures.  They will then be simultaneously citizens of the kingdom of souls, creative members of the great human family, and sound animals with the animal body so developed that it will provide the necessary instrument upon the outer plane of life for divine, human and animal revelation.  This, the coming New Age, will see take place and for it men are today consciously or unconsciously preparing.

We will divide the problems of psychology into the following groupings:

1. The Problems of Cleavage, leading frequently to the many ways of escape, which constitute the bulk of the modern complexes.

2. The Problems of Integration, which produce many of the difficulties of the more advanced people.

3. The Problems due to Inheritance, racial, family, etc., involving the problems of inherited diseases, with consequent crippling of the individual.

INDIVIDUAL AND WORLD CRISIS FOR ADJUSTMENT

When I deal with a crisis in my life I try to see the crisis in the light of the following words as given by Master DK:

“A crisis is brought about by a certain habit of mind, developed in the vehicle; it is surmounted in time only by a certain habit and rhythm of the spiritual content of the man's nature. It is the establishing of a certain objective rhythm which produces a crisis; it is the emergence of a particular subjective rhythm which enables a man to surmount the crisis and to capitalise on the opportunity. Please bear this in mind.”

“Shirk not these crises, hard and difficult though they may appear to be. Difficult they are. Forget not that the habit of confronting crises is a long-established one within the consciousness of humanity. Man has the "habit of crisis," if I may so call it. They are only the points of examination as to strength, purpose, purity and motive and the intent of the soul. They evoke confidence when surmounted and produce greatly expanded vision. They foster compassion and understanding, for the pain and inner conflict they have engendered is never forgotten, for they draw upon the resources of the heart. They release the light of wisdom within the field of knowledge and the world is thereby enriched.”

 

As I went through the media reports a week or two ago a thought came to me that it looks like the world, as a whole, is picking up on the fight between good and evil. These days in the news you can read a lot about people and representatives of countries referring to the USA as evil or as the Satan. Even the USA itself, under Bush revered to an axis of evil. Evil is rampant on all sides and in all countries; but we can also see the good at work although not referred to in the media as often as they refer to the evil side. A friend asked me why my emails that I send are always about the dark forces in the world and what they are doing. She thought that I should concentrate more on the light and the good things.

This made me think that I am not only acting out in my private life what I perceive in the media, but that I have a crisis of right and wrong, good and evil in my own life. This has been going on for a long time and I have put myself on the side of right where I am always trying to fight this evil in the world. It started early in my life, even before I joined the police force in South Africa as a young man. I also learned there that there was not a lot I could do, accept my duty as I saw it. I have become more tolerant over the years and realised that the world needs evil for many reasons. For one, it is the learning tool for the ignorant masses; it is their wakeup call. Evil creates crises that force us to act. We are just not ready to be without it…….I think my crisis is more in the will to understand and make sense out of this fight between good and evil, my search for truth and reality. What is behind it all? How does it work? Why? Why? And Why? - This drives me, a consciousness of warring dualities.

It looks to me as if Humanity itself as the world Disciple is also going through this crisis. Humanity is being driven by dark or materialistic forces so that we can all get an overdose of it. I think World War III is becoming a reality for the near future if this has to end with a Big Bang to inaugurate the New Age. If you take a look at the “world leaders” today; it looks as if some of them are using everything in their power to achieve just that, World War. There is a force behind all this riots and so-called revolutions and unrest that we see all over the world today. Good or bad; or good and bad.

 

Maybe this is all under control of spiritual forces that want to clean up and clear the way for the coming of Christ. This is also the way some Church-leaders are looking at it now. Some of them even talk of Armageddon.

I also see it all as a chessboard with black and white pieces or forces everywhere scheming, acting and counter acting each other for supremacy. This continuous creation of crisis after crisis to replace one crisis with another crisis that gives birth to another crisis is what we call life on earth today; the workings of the Spiritual Hierarchy – the true Illuminati. We were made to absorb or handle all of this. It is our destiny for development.

The world needs all this for the building of the world antahkarana because quite a large number of people are busy developing it in their lives and are thus having a pulling effect on the whole world. This is also part of the Plan of the Spiritual Hierarchy.

We must try to be the detached observer by raising the focus of our attention to a higher altitude and not be subjected to glamour. We must not get under the impression that we have the solutions to world problems; it is much bigger than what we see in world events or in the media alone. 

Humanity or the world is at that stage of development where it is also preparing for the new age of Aquarius under the entire range of spiritual vibrations in our solar system, the countless combinations of forces and energies – ray, planetary zodiacal and cosmic. In a sense you can say that we have brought ourselves here through the workings of evolution or the clock of evolution where we have an alignment of different cycles at this moment.

Pisces is seen as the head of the list of astrological signs because it is governing the present great astrological world cycle of 25800 years. We are currently moving on this greater wheel from Pisces to Aquarius, a process that takes approximately 2150 years. The wheel that governs the Hierarchy, the lesser cycle, is also moving from Pisces to Aquarius. Therefore, the two cycles are aligned, the wheel that governs Shamballa, on the greater cycle, is aligned with the Hierarchy on the lesser cycle and, therefore, it is a time of unprecedented opportunity. The Hierarchy is now becoming receptive to the second aspect of the Monad, the aspect that relates to the perfection of form. The third aspect of the Monad, the creative aspect, influenced the Piscean era. We also have the seventh ray coming into manifestation and so on….

We, some of us, are only now starting to make sense of all this; thus the need to develop the antahkarana and to connect the higher mind with the lower mind. The individual disciple and the world disciple are in need to do this because our morals and spiritual knowledge must go ahead of our technological inventions to prevent us from becoming a thread to ourselves and the planet as a whole. At the moment it looks like it is the other way around. We still have savages living in jungles, [including concrete jungles], while some of us are manufacturing nuclear weapons and walking on the moon.

In the wake of our modern developed communication networks the world has become a Global Village and gossip is spreading fast and is even translated into all languages. The people are definitely getting aware of the Hidden Hand in everything on the world stage.

I came across the following words of the Master DK in DISCIPLESHIP IN THE NEW AGE, on page 187, which opened up my mind to a lot of things:

“Be not weighed down or over-distressed by the weight of the ignorance and the lack of development of the masses whom you see around you. The psychic atmosphere of the countries in which you work is peculiar and most difficult for the disciples who are working in connection with us, the workers in the Great White Lodge. It is easier for chelas who work in connection with the . . . . . . Brotherhood (a branch of our activities).  Such chelas do not, however, work with the intelligentsia or with the pioneers of the race or with the thinking aspirants. They work with the quality of spiritual aspiration to be found in the herd, in the mass, and not with or in the individual. They do not work with the type of person whom you can reach. I mention this because I know well the deep discouragement which can assail you as you react to the massed psychic impression. Release yourself from it in the assurance that the Great White Lodge is working for the aspirants and that the . . . . . . Brotherhood is working with the illiterate and ignorant masses. It is one work but delegated to different groups who work in the closest possible association.”

If the “Brotherhood” to which Master DK is refereeing to here is the Dark Brotherhood, then it makes a lot of sense to me.

This also makes me understand that the “Dark” brotherhood is not actually dark or evil for some people. It is more the materialistic forces in us and our surroundings and the sources of Cosmic Evil, that Master DK refer to elsewhere in his books with AAB, which use these forces that are evil. The “Dark” Brotherhood works it’s evil to free the little ones while the Evil forces of materialism work to enslave them.

You can say that the Dark Brotherhood throws the little ones in the pit; the White Brotherhood helps them out of the pit; while the Cosmic Evil who lives in the pit, fights to keep them there. This is just another way of looking at it and the analogy might not be perfect.

The biggest ally of evil is ignorance and the biggest effort, of evil, is to keep as many people in ignorance as possible. Most of the people in the world are ignorant and has to learn through the school of hard knocks. Thus they develop and something good comes out of ignorance or a lack of schooling. But, there is also an evil force that wants to keep people in ignorance so that they, some rulers and their clans, cannot lose their power over them. Here people must learn to stand up to the evil ones and install new leaders….a vicious cycle that starts all over again.

 

We can now talk of Media Wars, where the Main stream media, mostly controlled by Jews, is losing its grip over intelligent people all over the world. Alternative News through the internet is playing a great part in this. The current world crisis in Ukraine, and Syria, is opening the eyes of the world to the hypocrisy of the west.

I do everything in my power to make people aware of this eternal battle between good and evil through the articles I post on my blog and website, as well as in my poems.

I try to make them aware of the spiritual forces involved in our everyday struggles and of the fact that our destinies are under control of higher forces than what the world media is holding out to us.

I try to understand this proses, through self-education, and I want to share my knowledge about it with others so that they two, can make sense of the world in the light of spiritual knowledge and can come to the conclusion that they are not alone and that there is hope for a better future; even if that future is not in our time and still far away. The main idea is to come to the understanding that there is a Plan, the Big Picture, the Will of God behind all this, implemented by and under the control of the Spiritual Hierarchy, under the Christ, the Master of the Masters. He never left and never lost control.

A MEDITATION TO BRING ABOUT ALIGNMENT BETWEEN PERSONALITY AND SOUL

In the production of alignment during meditation, I will ask you to do the following exercises, in breathing and in focussing. You know well, do you not, my friend and brother, that the more disciples are aligned and coordinated, the greater will be their power in service.

 

Therefore, attempt the following breathing exercise, paying particular attention to the interlude, and to the line of thought which you carry forward during these interludes. This is, for you, a somewhat difficult task, yet the interlude should be the easiest and most effective part of the meditation work. An interlude, properly held and utilised, is one of the preparatory steps towards that occult phenomenon, called by the oriental teachers, samadhi....

 

Then meditate deeply during the next six months on the following six phrases, holding the consciousness as high in the head as possible, and attempting to hold the mind steady in the light and aligned with the brain.

 

1st month—May the light of the soul illumine my mind, and shed a light upon the way of others.

 

2nd month—May the love of the soul control my lower nature, and guide me in the way of love.

 

3rd month—May I act as a soul in all my ways, and thus awaken others to a right activity.

 

4th month—I teach the way to others. I seek to contact souls, not minds.

 

5th month—As a soul, I serve my fellowmen.

 

6th month—I place the torch of truth in other hands, and from my torch they light their light.

 

If you follow these simple suggestions, my brother, you will be surprised at the results which will appear in a year's time. Simplicity is the way of soul growth. Be simple.

 

Each month, write a simple summation of your thoughts and service as you work with the monthly seed thoughts. Endeavour to make these six papers of real mental value to others, and also see, if possible, that they have a magnetic value [Page 194] and that they breathe out, not only mental understanding, but also an emotional appeal. Attend likewise to the form in which you cast them for that will be the symbol on the physical plane of your inner alignment.

FIERY CREATIVENESS OF THE HEART [a poem]

Creativeness incorporates the heart

Or rather, the sacred fire of the heart
Which radiates a special light       
That shines in nerve substance ever bright

This is a fiery potentiality of a magnate
Of creativeness that will never stagnate 
For a heart consecrated to righteousness
Will radiate it in its creativeness

We must prepare for higher realisations

By bringing new consciousness to our vibrations
Only the heart can be the accumulator
That brings Fohat to the illuminator

Affirm thought as the power and co-creator

Of existence while acting as our translator
Into a realisation of spiritual creativeness
Under the heart’s persuasiveness

When the stage of creativeness has been reached

You better practice what you preached
Or be retarded for many lives to come
By a rhythm hard to be undone

It’s not always fair to the good souls

To absorb the evil of the bad souls
That is why we have Karma
To force us to do our dharma

We create through psychic sensitised vibrations

Thus each work becomes a source of subtle vibrations
Where quality will be the foundation of cooperation
With cosmos that speaks through every creation

The highest energy creates only under tension

When life brings feelings of contention
So absorb everything life can teach
To bring great creations within your reach

The creative feeling is creativeness of thought

While reason without heart will come to nought
Purification of the heart brings sensitiveness
That leads to the renewal of consciousness

Ignorance disturbs the ascent of the hart

When this ally of the dark force plays its part

THE RELATION OF THE INTUITION TO ILLUSION

Intuition is a spiritual perception which gives right direction and a higher state of consciousness; it results in the pouring down through the mind of a stream of pure intelligent reason that is emotionally stabilised and poised, and which comes direct from the intuitional or buddhic plane.

The intuition is one of the latent faculties of the mind and that which enables the Spiritual Triad to make its presence objectively felt; it will develop into activity and usefulness by following the prescribed methods for its cultivation. By means of this faculty, man can have direct access to Truth, without the preliminary necessity of research and intellectual discrimination, these being then superseded.

Illusion is a mental misinterpretation of facts of life. According to the teachings of the Occult Philosophy, there is only one Reality, i.e. the One Cause, the universal Consciousness, which the orthodox call God. Outside of this One Great Changeless Mind, there is nothing but its manifestations; these are in a constant state of flux and change and under the influence of the law of Evolution. These manifestations, therefore, are not real, the final Reality being that which will Be – at the close of the evolutionary process. In so far as the human mind assumes these temporary manifestations to be permanent, it is subject to illusion.

Throughout centuries of belief in the reality of the material world, humanity has become confirmed in its belief of its reality. Because of this, it is with the utmost difficulty that the individual can be brought to suspect that his concepts of Reality are not true.

The student of psychology observe that the individual – as he develops the power of the mind – finds that the ideas he held, while functioning purely on the lower levels of the emotions and of thought, become untrue as his consciousness shifts to higher levels. A child has his definite concepts of Truth and Reality, but these concepts prove illusory as the child emerges into manhood. The concepts held by mature humanity and believe to be true prove illusory also as he gains in knowledge and begins to transmute experience into wisdom. In old age, if wisdom has been achieved and the fruits of experience are garnered, he will then look upon the concepts of early life and maturity as materialistic and largely untrue.

What is true of the individual is also true of the race. The concepts and the beliefs of one age prove illusory in a subsequent age and are discarded for the new. This is so because [as the mind evolves and develops] it comes closer to the world of truth. When the mind of the individual finally comes under the influence of the intuition and of the higher mind, he will know the truth with immediacy and will discard as illusion his former concepts and beliefs.

Because of the exigencies of the present time, the Hierarchy – through their teachers – are transmitting, through various ways and means, the manner in which this Great Illusion can be dispelled. Through self-discipline, right orientation, the practice of meditation and detachment from personality claims, the consciousness is raised to ever higher levels until the intuitional level can be reached. There, knowledge and understanding reveal to the individual that there is no Reality except the One Changeless Eternal Mind and all else is illusion. The aim is then to enter into that divine and universal Mind and learn co-operation with the purposes, the plans and the laws of that Mind. Everything else is regarded as unstable, temporary and illusory. The mind suddenly discovers and KNOWS that certain things are true without further investigation or enquiry and proceeds to govern action upon the assumption of their truth.

The relation of the intuition to illusion is one of living in a life which will clear the way for the acquiring of knowledge and intelligence; then that which is illusion will be easily discerned and finally dispersed, through the use of the intuition. The technique of the life of the disciplined disciple is to learn “to stand in spiritual being”.

The result of the pouring in of the intuition will be ILLUMINATION. It takes the form of the impression of the Light and Wisdom of the soul upon the quiescent [still] mind. This is one of the factors which will dispel glamour. Glamour is an astral or emotional force which makes the aspirant the victim of his own false emotional concepts and desires. Glamour can be likened to the conduct of a people living in the valleys, enmeshed in fog and mists. Due to their inability to see clearly through the fogs, they imagine they see various forms, fearsome or otherwise, and then imagine these forms of their own emotional-mental approach to be real. The morning sun, rising in glory above the horizon, disperses these fogs of the night, revealing the illusions and glamours under which people have been labouring. This is what happens to the human consciousness when the Light of the Intuition or the Light of the Soul [which is actually the Light of the Spiritual Triad working through the Soul], pours through into the mind of the aspirant.
